Davie Provan Testimonial 1987

One of the matchworn shirts worn during Davie Provan’s testimonial match against Nottingham Forest, where the Midlands club ran out 3 – 1 winners.

He started out at Kilmarnock, but joined Celtic in ’78 and made 206 appearances, voted SPFA Player of the Year in 1980 by his fellow professionals.

He was forced to retire from the game when he was diagnosed with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis which leaves the sufferer feeling very lethargic and unable to perform much physical activity.
